Google has announced plans to do their second Public Offering of shares. The number of shares Google plans to sell is 14,159,265. Why that many specifically? Those are the first eight digits that follow the decimal in the value of pi (3.14159265) - the infinite number that represents the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. Ya gotta love it.
Another pi story:
A9, the search engine owned by Amazon.com, offers a 1.57% discount on all your Amazon purchases if you use their search engine once every few days. Why 1.57%? It's pi divided by two, your own little 'slice of the pi'. Geek humour.
